Chute-à-Blondeau is East Hawkesbury’s Ottawa River village, sitting right at the Quebec boundary. The name is the rapids — the chute — that disappeared when Hydro-Québec’s Carillon Dam, built between 1959 and 1964, raised the level of the river.
That project reshaped the community: waterfront lots along Front Road were bought out, and some farms and homes were relocated. What remains is a small riverside village minutes from the provincial line, and Team Steven Levac works it from Hawkesbury in English, French, and German.

Chute-à-Blondeau faces the Ottawa River, and river access, views, and shoreline conditions are the first questions most buyers here ask.
The chute the village is named for is gone — the Carillon Dam raised the river over it — so the name now records what the shoreline used to be.
Hydro-Québec built the Carillon Dam between 1959 and 1964. Those water levels explain today’s shoreline and many property boundaries.
Waterfront lots on Front Road were bought out during the dam era and some farms and homes were moved, which still shows up in titles and lot histories.
The provincial boundary is right there, so Montreal-side work, family, and shopping are part of everyday life in this village.
We read shoreline, flood-mapping, and access details before you write an offer, in English, French, or German.

Inventory in Chute-à-Blondeau is small and river-weighted: waterfront and water-view homes, cottages converted to year-round use, village lots, and rural parcels behind the shoreline.
Because of the dam-era buyouts and relocations, waterfront files here need their history checked — easements, shore allowances, and access rights — before conditions come off.
